Jonathan is an economist with high level policy and political experience. He is currently Chief Economist at BOP Consulting, an international consultancy specialising in the creative economy and the cultural sector. He manages the research programme of UK Music, the trade body for the commercial music industry, on behalf of BOP. Other BOP clients include BBC Wales, The Audience Agency, and Pallant House Gallery.
He is a former Chief Economist at the think-tank Demos and a Senior Consultant at Europe Economics. He has a decade of experience in undertaking economic impact assessments and holds degrees from three universities, including an M.Phil from Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge University and a MSc in Economics from Birkbeck College, University of London.
He is an RSA Fellow and has been named by City AM among the UK’s 100 most influential economists. As Deputy Editor of Labour Uncut, which has been ranked by Vuelio communications agency as the 9th most influential political blog in the UK, and an Associate Editor of Progress, Jonathan is a regular political commentator. He also contributes writing to Prospect magazine.
